The Wonder Approach Family Day Care

The Wonder Approach Family Day Care has been operating for 14 years and has grown to become the largest Family Day Care Service in the Illawarra region and growing throughout NSW. Our Educators provide high quality care in a home environment. We have qualified Educators caring for children in Newcastle, Wollongong, Goulburn, Sydney, Southern Highlands and the North and South Coasts of NSW. We have strong community connections and value our role in Early Childhood Education. We have a strong arts focus and like to stretch the boundaries of early education and think outside the box. We have a commitment to reconciliation and learning more about our land and its people. The image of the child is paramount and guides our daily practise, thoughts and care curriculum.

About us

Reconciliation Statement

From the Shellharbour sea on Dharawal Country, to the bright city lights of Sydney on Gadigal land of the Eora Nation, stretching across to Western Sydney on Darug Country, and south to Campbelltown on Dharawal Country, our wonder-filled journey continues. We travel further down to Bega on Djiringanj land of the Yuin Nation, across to Goulburn on Gundungurra Country, into the wide plains of Cootamundra on Wiradjuri Country, up the coastline to Newcastle on Awabakal and Worimi land, and west to Mudgee on Wiradjuri Country once more. Along every path and place, we honour the First Peoples whose stories, voices, and deep cultural knowledge guide the heart of our work.

We never pretend to know more than we know—taking each learning opportunity to listen, reflect, grow, and deepen our understanding. We hope to share stories with respect, curiosity, and care, acknowledging the love, friendship, and learning that come from walking gently on Country. Through The Wonder Approach and our Eco Warrior Program, we nurture children’s connection to land, culture, and community, celebrating the wisdom of Elders and embracing our shared responsibility to learn with humility and grow together on this ancient and sacred land.
